As specialists in uncovering the most exciting new locations for weddings overseas, this incredible journey took us deep into the heart of Irpinia, Italy—a breathtaking, undiscovered region that’s ready to rival the likes of Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast.
This was the third edition of the Irpinia Wedding Destination FAM Trip, expertly hosted by the passionate duo Francesco from Info Irpinia and Vittoria Belmonte Wedding Planner, whose love for their land is as contagious as the views are breathtaking. With their combined backgrounds in tourism and wedding planning, they’ve built more than just an itinerary—they’ve created a movement, shining a spotlight on a region brimming with possibility for both international planners and romantic couples alike.
A Journey Through Authentic Italy
Over several immersive days, a group of international wedding planners (myself included!) and tour operators were treated to a curated itinerary showcasing Irpinia’s top venues, historic gems, and mouthwatering local produce. Every detail was designed to reflect the soul of this land—elegant yet rustic, historic yet welcoming, remote yet incredibly accessible via Naples or Salerno-Amalfi airports.
Standout Stops Included:
Tenuta Ippocrate – A charming estate that combines wellness, vineyard views, and versatile event spaces. It offers a natural, earthy atmosphere perfect for couples who want authenticity with a touch of sophistication.
Casa Reale – The beating heart of this FAM trip. Both an elegant venue and our host for the unforgettable Gala Night, Casa Reale blends contemporary style with traditional hospitality. It’s also where many of us were able to meet local suppliers, enjoy tastings, and see Irpinian magic come alive under the stars.
Villa Antico Mulino – Tucked in the heart of Montecalvo Irpino, this rustic gem offered us not just an aperitivo, but a step back in time. The venue’s charm lies in its rich character and panoramic views—perfect for intimate weddings.
Castello Pignatelli – This historic castle, complete with a warm welcome from the local mayor, gave us serious fairytale vibes. It’s the kind of place where history, romance, and celebration intertwine effortlessly.
Villa Kristall & Ruspoli Castle – From contemporary spaces with clean lines to regal grandeur, these venues showed us the vast variety Irpinia can offer. Whether a couple dreams of a modern minimalist affair or a full royal fantasy, it’s all possible here.
Zungoli & Lapio – These ancient borgos are more than pretty faces. With cobbled streets, picturesque balconies, and layers of local culture, they are the kind of locations that elevate a wedding into an unforgettable experience—not just for the couple, but for every guest who joins them.
More Than a FAM Trip—A Celebration of Community
This wasn’t just about ticking off venue visits. We dined, danced, sipped local Taurasi wine, indulged in zeppole from Pompilio (hello, dessert heaven!), and experienced Irpinian hospitality at its finest. The Gala Night was a true highlight—a celebration not only of the region’s offerings but of its people. From hair and makeup trials to supplier showcases, it was a full-circle event connecting international planners with local talent ready to shine.
