Here they are.

So you’ve decided on a send off. Awesome. Now it’s time to prepare! Luckily this is super simple to do, but there are a few things you’ll need. Here they are.

Lighting Makes The Difference

Lighting can be the difference between an amazing photo and a crappy one.

That’s why it’s important to make sure your send off area is adequately lit.

If you are opting for a nighttime wedding send off, it is important to keep in mind that ambient light will affect your photos.

Even the small wall light on the side of the church could influence how your photos turn out.

Be sure to talk to your photographer about what lighting is needed.

It’s likely they’ll have everything, but you can never be too sure!

Make Sure Everything Is Coordinated And Everyone Is Aware

A special note: Make sure there is a first-aid kit is nearby. After a long day and probably a few drinks, guests won’t be at their most alert. It’s better to be safe than sorry, even if it’s something as harmless as bubbles!

You’ve got all the supplies and the lighting is taken care of.

Now you need to make sure that everything is coordinated.

Photographer, DJ/Band, Etc.

The vendors need to be aware of when your send off is.

Your photographer obviously needs to know when they need to take your amazing photos!

The DJ or band needs to know when to play the last song to get everyone ready and aware of when the event will happen.

Appoint A Coordinator

Don’t take this on yourself if you don’t have to!

Your job is to have fun, not to run around making sure everyone is ready for the send off.

If you can, appoint a coordinator to arrange everything for your exit.

What that coordinator will do is make sure the guests and vendors are prepared and know exactly what to do.

A few things that the coordinator will need to do:

  1. Make sure the guests are aware that there will be a send off after the reception
    1. This could be done by making an announcement after the marriage ceremonyFor a fun and visual way to let guests know, check out these awesome send off display areas!
  2. Make sure the DJ/band knows when to announce the last song
  3. Make sure the send off area is set up
    1. Know where the first aid kit isIf using sparklers be sure to have buckets around for the used sparklersHave the products laid out and ready to go so assembling guests is as simple as possible
  4. Alert the bride and groom when it’s time to prepare for the send off

Having a send off coordinator will make things ultra easy and smooth on your wedding day so you won’t have to worry!

Have A Send Off Display Table!

So you’ve decided on a send off. Awesome. Now it’s time to prepare! Luckily this is super simple to do, but there are a few things you’ll need. Here they are.

As mentioned before, having a display table can be a fun and visual way to let your guests know what’s in store for them.

You could do this by setting up a table in the entrance to the reception area.

Decorate it however you like, and include a sign with the time of the event.

That way everyone is aware before the reception starts and won’t be caught off guard when the DJ/band announces the last song!

Put A Note About Your Send Off In Your Wedding Program

Want to make sure EVERYONE shows up to your send off?

Put a note about it in the wedding program.

All of your guests will get one as they walk into your ceremony.

Something as simple as ‘Join us for a fun and memorable send off at 9PM’ will do!

Does Your Send Off Area Need To Be Decorated?

Take a walk through where you will be holding the event and look around for anything you might not want in your photos.

If these objects can’t be removed, think about how you might be able to decorate them and use them in your photos.

For example, that pillar in the middle of the reception area may be ugly by itself, but adding a ‘just married’ sign with a few rope lights, streamers, or balloons in the background can help tie it in with your wedding exit.

Same thing with outdoor send offs!

If you don’t like that light pole or think the building walls need some character, try adding some lights or shrubbery to bring them to life.

Make Sure You Smile And Have Fun!

Hopefully, this guide will help you come prepared for your send off!

The most important thing is to smile and have fun.

No matter what, your photos are going to be great as long as you’re having a great time.

Now that you know how to prepare for your wedding send off, make sure everything is purchased and coordinated.

Then when it comes time for the last event of your wedding, take beautiful silly photos with your new spouse and drive off into the sunset.
