If the Bride & Groom are both Catholic, they can have a church wedding here as long as neither have been married before. This is legally recognised in the UK and the paperwork is processed through the church.
However, as with many of our clients if you are of any other religion or have been married before then it is necessary to obtain the marriage certificate in the UK through the local registry office, before coming over to celebrate a wedding ceremony with our local resident Chaplin.
This ceremony is still a full wedding ceremony, including signing of the register , marriage certificate etc. So in fact, if you did not want family and friends to know that the civil side of the marriage has already taken place, they need not know.
